Getting kicked out of SSH trying to log as root after instal

Going through the setup on my e02 pogoplug, rebooted at step 8 as instructed by:

Clean up and reboot. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
cd .. umount usb /sbin/reboot

Problem is that now I get disconnected using Putty when logging in as root/root

Complete linux noob here so kind of baffled. Can't seem to find a solution by searching the usual channels.

Anyone ever run into this? Kind of hit a wall at the moment so any help would be appreciated.

To make sure I wasnt doing anything incorrectly, I've restarted the instal from scratch again and again, same thing: After rebooting once archlinux installation is complete, my connection gets cut whenever i try to log in with root/root. any of the previous logins do not work.

Have you tried logging in from a different machine? I suppose you have enough space on the flash drive/hdd where you've installed alarm.

Yeah, I've tried logging in both from windows using putty: I get the message "Network Error: Software caused connection abort" and from my unbutu laptop where i just get disconnected.

Very strange. I've also tried reinstalling on a flash drive as opposed to usb hard drive and the results are the same.

Try to reinstall, but with an older tarball. I'had downloaded this one a month ago:



Instruction on how to reinstall is in my sig. though instead of wget from archlinuxarm.org, use this one:
