I think not. The production has been transferred to a Sony factory in Wales and is commissioned by R-Pi foundation. The whole thing is taking everyone by surprise - they're just inundated with orders. (40,000 at a time, swallowed up by back orders)
But what a great story - and I've met Ebden, David Braben and Jack Lang and am delighted they have (another) success on their hands!

That's interesting to hear, the production was moved FROM CN, while SONY makes most of their stuff on well known CN factories - the same huge CN factories which make electronics for other OEMs - just give them your drawings and schematics. The number 40K/month sounds impressive. "The government of a country in the Middle East has expressed interest in providing a board to every schoolgirl, in order to enhance their employment prospects". :D

Don't forget that 100 Mbit/sec is max spec standard rate, may have little to do with actual link max.

The article is indeed interesting. It shows again, what true entrepreneurship is. And Ebden is definitely a talented guy, well prepped for the task by his Broadcom job and access to their Datasheets and engineers. :D In fact, Broadcom entire strategy reverts around field_task-on-chip. Still unclear, why such a board would take 6 years to design given layout design software broadly available?

This board may in fact create a revolution in schools similar to 1st Macs appearance. The entire PC industry can look at restructuring and giving some room to such product lines. It also a good stimulus to kids to learn sciences. Great stuff, quite powerful. Look even at other ARM devices - they converted plenty of unsuspecting novices into Linux hackers. :P

Why don't you talk about yourself? Telling BS doesn't make one a hero, especially when aren't cashing from the subject and can't block others.

Thanks for correction. I guess only Liz knows what his real name is. :D

Where did you see me "telling BS"? That was a joke. Sorry if it seemed insulting to you.

My fault - Eben is (at least here in Blighty) a pretty unusual name.
So, please put your handbags down guys...
