i followed the instruction i get this when i visit the page
can not connect to database, using sqlite3. (open_basedir prohibits opening /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/data/owncloud.db)

php.ini needs edited to allow the path.

question, do i run owncloud for the first time and setup admin account and than do those steps? cause i noticed when u install it for the first time and if you haven't done the initial setup than data folder isn't there yet, until you make the first admin account

and also are you missing chmod in those steps you gave me?
i did chown -R http:http /media/Part2/owncloud still gives me same error

is /media/Part2 actually your mountpoint?

If you want it to do the proper way, edit php.ini

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'nano /etc/php/php.ini')

CTRL+W to search, and search for open_basedir

add your data direcotry at the end

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'open_basedir = /srv/http/:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/:/media/Part2/owncloud')
then you can reinstall owncloud and when it prompts you for the data dir, enter /media/Part2/owncloud

If it doesn't work, play with permissions

yes that is the mount point, and i edited php.ini and added /media/Part2/owncloud, and on initial setup of owncloud i clicked on advanced and in data directory i put /media/Part2/owncloud and it gives me this error

You can usually fix this by giving the webserver write access to the ownCloud directory '/usr/share/webapps/owncloud' (in a terminal, use the command 'chown -R www-data:www-data /path/to/your/owncloud/install/data'
