PPV4: UNFS3

From what I have been reading the UNFS3 package can handle exporting HFS+ partitions. What type of speed difference will there be using UNFS3 vs Samba? Right now I am using Samba because NFS does not handle HFS+. I also can't use netatalk due to a bug in the media streaming client I am using.
