Pogo-E02: NAS uses local bandwidth or internet bandwidth?

Postby rino » Sat Jan 12, 2013 3:08 am

If Pogo-E02 has not been hacked with alARM, and it is being used on the default software ... if I stream something within the local network ... does it use local bandwidth or use internet bandwidth? I am in Canada, and we have capped internet packages, so it would be great to know this information.

I know that if I am outside my local network, and try to stream from my Pogo-E02 NAS, then it will definitely use my internet bandwidth ... however, I am not sure about the question mentioned above.

Anyone?

This is really a question for pogoplug.com support, but:
Assuming the device & pogoplug service recognize that you are on the same LAN, it will not use your internet connection. Every once in a while however, something misbehaves and this detection falters in such a way that it thinks you are not on the same LAN.
