This weekend I got a new flash drive, copied the partitions to the new drive and booted. Well, after power down, this drive boots again without a problem. So it was probably a bad partition tabe in the older flash drive. The fact that it booted once, and not the second time, without fixing it in linx computer to do fsck, suggests that the data were intact in the older drive, but not the partition tabe entry.
