You got syslog-ng service running? Then /var/log/everything.log has whats happening.
Here is a tip, plug in usb keyboard and type blind, ie put in root and password (leave a delay before and after password), poweroff with poweroff
Alt ctrl del works without logiing in

it's a goflex net. There's no keyboard or any kind of port on it only way to work on it is SSH. I'll have to re-install everything on the flash drive again and go through all this pain for the second time and just forget about time machine.
