PPv4: Can I really get rid of systemd-sysvcompat?

Postby winestock » Sat Mar 16, 2013 2:14 pm

I am running an all systemd install, no initscripts. If this is the case can I truly uninstall systemd-sysvcompat? How do I check if I still have anything dependent on systemd-sysvcompat? I don't want to uninstall it and then that I can't boot.

Don't do that, this is quote to get rid of initscripts and become pure systemd
"Proceed to remove initscripts and sysvinit from your system and install systemd-sysvcompat"

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pepedog', 'D')on't do that, this is quote to get rid of initscripts and become pure systemd

If I am pure systemd from when I installed what is left that requires systemd-sysvcompat?

If you get rid of it, look what would go, maybe if you changed uboot env you could get around /sbin/init
I think they are all symlinks
pacman -Ql systemd-sysvcompat
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/halt
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/init
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/poweroff
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/reboot
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/runlevel
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/shutdown
systemd-sysvcompat /sbin/telinit
