Midnight Commander on Pogoplug has weird fonts. Fix?

Midnight Commander on Pogoplug has weird fonts. Fix?

I use Midnight Commander to edit, copy, move files. I installed with pacman -Sy mc. Everything works fine but the font and borders don't look like other versions of Midnight Commander. Is there something I need to add to get the fonts correct?
