[Guruplug] rtorrent/libtorrent broken?

Postby doragasu1 » Sun Jun 09, 2013 5:44 pm

I have been using for years rtorrent on my Guruplug without a problem. Around 2 or 3 weeks ago, it got updated, and since then I cannot download/seed a single torrent. No error messages are output, but nothing downloads or uploads.

While trying to figure out what the problem was, I plugged the disk with the torrents and session files to my desktop Arch Linux PC. Redirected the torrent related ports in my router to my PC, and fired rtorrent. It works flawlessly in my PC, with the same configuration (.rtorrent.rc).

Redirected again the ports to my Guruplug, reinstalled everything from scratch, fired rtorrent and got the same. It doesn't download/upload.

Finally I restored the most recent backup I had from my Guruplug system (from 1th february 2013) and rtorrent works flawlessly.

The versions of rtorrent/libtorrent failing to me are 0.9.3-2 and 0.13.3-2. The versions I'm currently using (from feburary) are 0.9.2-2 and 0.13.2-2. It also worked with 0.9.3-1 and 0.13.3-1. Infortunately I don't have packages for these versions in my cache.

I'm almost sure the last rtorrent/libtorrent update screwed something. Anyone having the same problem? Should I report a bug?

I can now confirm for sure these packages are broken. Finally I had time to build rtorrent 0.9.2 and libtorrent 0.12.2 from their PKGBUILD. Then I downgraded to these versions, and rtorrent started working flawlessly. In case anyone needs the working older packages, you can download them here:

libtorrent-0.13.2-2-arm.pkg.tar.xz
rtorrent-0.9.2-2-arm.pkg.tar.xz
