[SOLVED] (v.4) installation using USB 3.0 port

Postby ethanjoh » Tue Jul 16, 2013 12:12 pm

Hi, again

I'm using Pogo v.4.
I've already used USB 2.0 port on the top with HDD.
I want to install archlinux with USB 3.0 port on the back.
Is it possible?
Can be installed USB 2.0 port only?

You would need the bootloader and kernel on the usb2 but you should be able to have the rootfs on usb3

You would still have to use the USB2 plug as well as the USB3 plug. It can't boot off of usb3 alone. Also, I would recommend getting a serial adapter because you would have to modify the bootargs/uboot settings to get it to work.

Sounds difficult...anyway I can't install using USB 3.0 port only. I still need USB 2.0 port...am I right?
Thanks.

I found the easiest way...I was so stupid.
Just plugin USB 2.0 HDD to USB 3.0 port, and I can install using USB 2.0 port on the top.
