updates on Pogoplug booting off correct USB drive?

The last I heard on this topic, Moustafa Hassan's method was the most consistent way to get Alarm on Pogoplug to boot consistently when two storage drives are connected. Has there been any updates lately?

I don't really like modifying the uboot because it means more care has to be taken when making the rootfs drive.

I have two pogoplugs that boot correctly like 90% of the time. I have the rootfs on the bottom USB port on the back, and the storage drive on the top USB drive on the back. But these were made quite a while ago, about 9 months.

Just checking in to see if there's been any improvements/tricks developed for booting off the right drive.
