E02 no longer has stock linux, but will boot into Arch

Postby permitivity » Mon Oct 07, 2013 5:40 am

Hi,
One of my E02's is exhibiting odd behavior. On my other E02, if no rootfs is plugged in, they boot into some kind of stock linux environment. On this particular E02, if I take all USB flash drives off of it and power it up, it goes through this LED sequence:

No LED (~30 seconds)
Green LED fast blink @ 5Hz or so (15 seconds)
Green LED stays on, Orange LED blinks (15 seconds)
Then it goes back to No LED, and so on.

I'm never able to ssh in, and the router never sees it DHCP request. But, if I plug in an ALArm flash drive, it will boot it and everything works normally.

I tried reinstalling uboot, thinking that uboot is the "stock" linux environment. I just did that once, since I read somewhere that you shouldn't do that too often it wears out the non-volitile memory.

What's wrong with this Pogoplug? Has anyone else experienced this?

I waited a bit and tried again...this particular Pogoplug is still not booting up the stock Linux. Thought I'd give my thread a bump.

At this point you need to either hook up serial, or netconsole.

I've heard of netconsole. I'll try to work on that.

I read this in the Pogoplug install instructions:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'If your Pogoplug boots and the front LED blinks wildly for about 15-20 seconds and then TURNS OFF, you're in business when it comes to booting, but there is likely something that has stopped the network. It's not a brick, but be ready to troubleshoot.')

I wonder if I mess up my environment variables. Is there a way to reset everything back to the way it is when you install uboot fresh?
