Pogoplug Series 4: Anyone tried the i2c bus ?

Postby dhead666 » Thu Jan 09, 2014 3:41 pm

I want to add a rtc to my PP4 as the rtc pins doesn't seem to routed (and soldering directly to the SoC pins is beyond my skill) so the next approach is the i2c bus (twsi).
If I read the circuit correctly then the 2 wire i2c bus is routed and accessible but I'm not sure if I need to add some pull ups and about the resistance.

From what I understand there are no "hardware" I2C pins here.
"The 88F6190/88F6192 device contains 36 Multi-Purpose Pins (MPP). Each one can be assigned to
a different functionality through the MPP Control register."
The test points #20 thru #22 are for JTAG if you meant those.
Edit: I take it back. MPP8 and MPP9 are routed. They end up somewhere near serial port.
Confused: arent's they routed to TTL serial port?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'C')onfused: arent's they routed to TTL serial port?

Oh, I didn't properly check it, will have to look at this again later and properly test it.
I do remember that from a quick glance it seemed like the UART connected via different vias (different pins of the SoC, which is allowed to).

Anyway thanks @Sergeanter.
