unable to access local(32400) plex web interface on E02

Postby windwalker » Sun Sep 21, 2014 3:31 am

Got my E02(pink) set-up last night(mostly) using Arron Randall and Qui Guides
Most everything appears to be working ok
installed Samba and can see the shares in windows explorer
installed access of my.pogoplug.com-that works
Installed webmin and can access it, via ip:10000
Installed mindlna, haven't tried accessing it yet
installed plex and I can access it from my roku, can see it under windows network, can ping "alarm" but accessing the web interface at alarm:32400 is giving me fits. Works sometimes and then nothing

open to any/all ideas on what to check

Thanks

Thanks MM
tried that as well

looks like it may have been the time services not starting, that was the only fail I could see in logs

rebooted several times, webmin was giving me problems as well it turns out. But somehow managed to get time syncing(I think)
and plex:32400 seems to be working

Now to figure out how the heck to back my config up and/or clone this boot drive so if something breaks or I break something I want have to spend another 10 hours getting it set back up

Running webmin and plex must be torture for 256MB of RAM. That could explain the timeouts. I remember when trying out Plex that is was piss slow. I suggest Serviio as a DLNA server, since minidlna is too barebones and has issues with external subs on Samsung devices.

You need to download it from serviio.org and install EJB Java for ARMv5 as told here : viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5282&p=29980&hilit=java#p29980

As for backup see this : http://mhassan.me/2012/06/30/backing-up ... -pogoplug/

It uses rsync and is simple but effective.

Plex runs fine even on a 128MB GoFlex with a bunch of other services enabled. You do need to wait good 10 -20 min for it settle down after the first run and also after adding all the movies to its database. You do need swap as well.

For oracle ejre there is a package in aur: ejre-arm-headless

plex has a built in dlna server, so it seems redundant to run minidlna.

I agree with moonman, you need to wait a looong time after the first boot before you try and add movies. It has to download some files from the net, and if you interupt it it doesn't work correctly. Once set up its reasonably quick.
