Microphone broadcast to local network Pogoplug V4

Hi There

So, I need a microphone in the baby's room broadcasting over wifi to ... whatever.
Hoping for minimal latency and some kind of easy Android interface.
Having tried lots of stuff, so far the best solutions are:
Arecord direct SSH to another device, but not very android friendly
Mumble, but the interface is wonky.

Any thoughts? I've achieved super high audio quality with my current USB soundcard + condenser microphone on Pogoplug V4 with Arch Linux.
