SOLVED - Arch Linux - PogoPlug V4

Postby RndmGuy06 » Sun Feb 15, 2015 7:33 pm

SOLVED

I was installing Arch on my PP using this tutorial...

http://www.razva.ro/install-arch-linux- ... ogoplug-4/

Everything was going great. I edited my fstab file to autoload my usb storage drive. I rebooted at step 35 and I get the solid green light on the PP. My router cannot see it and therefore no IP Address. I cannot Putty into my Pogoplug.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Did you have that drive plugged in when you rebooted?

I have tried with it plugged in and without. Once the line is in fstab, does the drive always need to be present?

Depends on the options you specified in fstab. If you didn't add "nofail" to options string your system boots in rescue mode without network if the drive you specified in fstab is not attached to your pogo. While it isn't much of an issue on anything with a monitor, obviously it is a big issue on devices without one. Also if you made a mistake in fstab - your system will boot into rescue mode regardless whether your drive is attached or not. Edit fstab from another linux system and possibly use udevil to mount the drive.

I will remove my fstab line from another linux computer to see if it will boot.

What is rescue mode? I don't think I have heard of that from a linux side of things before.
