Boot from SSD

Postby guidogoni » Tue Mar 31, 2015 2:30 am

Hi there!

I have been using archlinuxarm for several months now on my GoFlex Home, thanks for all the info in site + forums! Recently my HDD broke (completely dead with mechanical ticks) and wanted to move over to a 64GB SSD I had in a drawer, I had a backup archlinuxarm usb drive (not updated but works great in emergency case) so could run the install procedure on the new SSD but it won't boot :( Green light just keeps on blinking. Is there anything I'm missing for SSDs? How can I read the error on boot?

Thanks in advance!

There should be no reason you can't use and SSD. Did you follow http://archlinuxarm.org/support/reinstallation ?

Thanks WarheadsSE, I have done exactly those steps, tried different filesystems (ext3 and ext4) same output. I tried checking the logs on the disk but there is none to understand why the disk is not getting booted. As soon as I insert the USB and reboot it boots in a couple of seconds, it's driving me crazy :/
