NSA325 USB3 port gone missing since Kernel update

Postby technosf » Fri Apr 17, 2015 10:24 pm

Hiya all,

NSA325 front USB3 port has gone dark since a recent kernel update.

It does not show up on lsusb:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub')

Nothing on journalctl when I plug in working devices - devices light up and are powered via the port, and appear to handshake... Where is it in arch tho?

Ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Downgraded to latest 3.19 and then further downgraded to 3.19.1-2.

USB3 up, but still, not finding the Ethernet controller on that bus device. Investigating.

Bugger!

Workaround: NSA325 USB3 port gone missing since Kernel updat

Postby technosf » Fri Apr 17, 2015 11:24 pm

Back to normal... Reboot after downgrade left the USB3 eth dead. Further reboot - no change.

Pulled the USB3 cable and reinserted while watching journalctl and I see the usb3 eth is now found and brought up. Reboot and it all starts as it should.

Weird.
