hostname stuck as ubit0-6

Postby bgulla » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:01 pm

just installed Arch Linux ARM on my goflexnet, for some reason my command prompt is ' [root@ubit0-6 ~]# ' and my network host name is the ubit0-6. I changed it in /etc/rc.conf but theres no change. any ideas?

Hi, bgulla.

Same problem here.

Hostname set at startup in /etc/rc.syscofig

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'if [ "$HOSTNAME" != "" ]; then
status "Setting Hostname: $HOSTNAME" /bin/hostname $HOSTNAME
fi')

Likely after some update 'hostname' bin was removed.
So i downloaded http://plugboxlinux.org/os/2011.02/Plug ... tfs.tar.gz to temp folder and put hostname to bin.

I'm little bit scary that other important things go away with update :(

This was fixed, as Arch moved it package to package without much warning. A full Syu will resolve the problem.
