Pacman package problems

Postby aliasneo » Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:57 am

My pacman packages seem to have disassociated themselves with pacman, I'm not sure why or when because my server has been running OK for quite a while until I came to install php and mysql a couple of days ago to find pacman doesn't recognise that they are already installed but when I try to install them it fails because the files all exist on the filesystem.

I was wanting to do a fresh, clean install (on my GoFlex Home) but would prefer a simpler way that didn't involve starting again if I could somehow clean it all up.

Currently it is running from my 2TB HDD on a 20GB partition I created following an old tutorial on openstora.org that mounts the partition as an aufs(?) overlay.

Any suggestions on how I can clean it up?

Try pacman -Sf php
or
pacman -Syyuf
If this fails try pacman -Scc (say yes to both) then pacman -Syyuf

That appears to have worked thanks, didn't need the cache clear.

Installing svn seems to give me a confilict though between krb5 and heimdal and asks if I want to remove heimdal.

Thanks, I selected yes to remove Heimdal and now I get the problems with files existing, specifically ca-certificates this time. Do I just force install again?

Will I have to do this for each package now that's damaged as I come across them?

It appears that it didn't, ill post console output after running it again but ill have to find another problem package to demonstrate.

I have no SSH access now either because openssl insists that it needs heimdal, I have tried upgrading openssl but there is no update so no krb5 support.

What's the solution to fixing ssh access?
