Again Two major issues:
- NTFS is A++ Numero Uno the problem. The performance of the NTFS-3G drive in fuse just plain sucks
- You will not get native USB speed over the network, period, no matter how fast the network connection is.

Ok thats fast with your router.
Did you make any tweaks or only the unmodified ArchlinuxARM?

Hi!

I have on the GoFlex Net an unmodified ArchLinuxARM. For ftp server I have vsftpd installed.
On my D-Link DIR-825 I have OpenWrt (trunk, own build) installed.

Hey,

just to make an update / report.

I bought a new and better router now. Buffalo WZR-HP-G300HN with dd-wrt.
With that i get 7-8MB/s through wifi. So it was my old router which pulled the tranfser rates down.
Maybe with a newer wlan-n card in my notebook it would be higher.
Direct lan connection with cat5 cable gives me around 30MB/s :).

Good Luck with speeding up your box.

Yes.
Its a really nice and fast router with dd-wrt preinstalled ;).
I got it for 45€. Street price is something like 60-70€. So its quite cheap too.

Hey,

the price is new something like 60-70€/$US. I got it at ebay for 45€, nearly new.
Theres also a newer version which supports dd-wrt and has dual band wifi (2.4GHz + 5Ghz): wzr-hp-ag300h (80€).
Another good router is the dlink dir 825 (also dual band) which is normally a bit more expensive (~100€).
To get good speeds you will also need a good wlan-n card in your computer. I have a broadcom and i use linux. With the opensource drivers i only get 3MB/s and with the one from broadcom (broadcom-wl) i get more than twice like 7-8MB/s.
So i think it also depends on your client card.
All of them have no modem included.
