First I want to thanks everybody for your help and reactivity.

Then, I've already added users and PW, butr nothing works.
As you said, I use both WINSCP and putty. WINSCP for the windows interface and putty as seems to work better than WINSCP.

I may use these SW, if OK to transfert files to my server from an external PC. I'll search on the web (I'm a newbie and not sure that these softs do the job from external PC ?).

Anyway, I must reinstall my USB drive. All works fine, as the HTTP (and PHP) server for now. But, working on the FTP conf files, I've made something (what ?) that lead the plug to lost the SSH communication. Then never communicate again, when boot on the USB. Still works fine when booting on the plug itself. So I've to re-format the USB drive and reinstall everything.

TBC...

Hi everybody,

my FTP server is working for now and accessible via the WEB.
When logging in via net2ftp, I see the containt of my ftp directory and can view a photo in it.
However, transfers are not possible !

My user is defined with the limit args: <Limit WRITE STOR READ CWD DELE MKD RNTO RMD RETR>
I've also with none... but is the same. The answer is that the file could not be transfered !

Any idea ?
regards

Hi there,
I'm also trying to get an FTP server running on my pogoplug v2, so I tried what was suggested at the beginning of this thread (pacman -S proftpd) but it didn't work. Specifically it said this:

pacman -S proftpd
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...

Targets (3): libmysqlclient-5.5.25.a-1 postgresql-libs-9.1.4-1
proftpd-1:1.3.4a-5

Total Download Size: 4.22 MiB
Total Installed Size: 25.29 MiB

Proceed with installation? [Y/n] y
:: Retrieving packages from extra...
error: failed retrieving file 'libmysqlclient-5.5.25.a-1-arm.pkg.tar.xz' from mi rror.archlinuxarm.org : The requested URL returned error: 404

postgresql-libs-9.1... 614.4 KiB 453K/s 00:01 [######################] 100%

warning: failed to retrieve some files from extra
error: failed to commit transaction (download library error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Does this mean that proftpd is no longer available? Or that I have to install it manually somehow?

Sorry I'm new to Linux etc.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Did anyone measure large files copy speed via FTP from a Windows or Linux PC to EXT4 or XFS formatted HD hooked to Pogo via USDB 2.0 or SATA? What was the Pogo processor load?
