I did, perhaps something went wrong along the way, who knows. At the moment though I need to go back to the stock firmware. If I don't go back to stock, I can't try to reinstall Arch

make sure of the Flash drive partitionning and formatting exactly as stated in the instructions.
It was on a different HW (iomega iconnect) but I had a lot of trouble just because I did cut cornesr and did not partition my flash drive that was already formatted.
U-boot kept balking about some magic number that was wrong and did not proceed to load the kernel. Exactly following the setup instruction got me the needed configuration.

I can confirm that reverting does NOT work on the Pogoplug Mobile. I tried with 3 different FAT32-formatted USB sticks, but the LED just keeps blinking nonstop. I need to revert so I can update the uboot with the latest and greatest with SD-boot support. In archlinux I don't have commands like nandwrite and fw_printenv, so right now I'm stuck.

Package/command
uboot-env / fw_(print|set)env
mtd-utils / nandwrite etc

If anyone would like to donate a device to one of your developers (a Pogoplug Mobile) we can troubleshoot this issue. As it stands, we've got 2 Series 4 that we purchased with our own wallets.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'P')ackage/command
uboot-env / fw_(print|set)env
mtd-utils / nandwrite etc

Thank you very much. In the mean time I did succeed in reverting. It just took quite some attempts until the LED stopped blinking after a while. But then the next problem popped up: I messed up uboot and was not able to use the device at all :mrgreen: In order to fix it, I soldered some wires to J11 and connected them to the UART of an NSLU2, so I'm able to recover from this as well ;)

Quick question; If I install U-Boot using http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ppv4/ppv4-install.sh on my PogoPlug Mobile, will I still be able to boot to the original software if there is no USB drive attached?

Thanks

If you read the instructions and details we put on the site for a reason, you wouldn't have needed to ask the question.

Thanks for your answer. I did read instructions and I understand that creating a folder named "revert" on a FAT32 USB drive is the way to revert to stock firmware. My objective is to boot from SD-Card but I guess I will try with a USB flash drive first to make sure I have no surprise.

My previous question wasn't about how to revert to stock, I just wanted to know what would happen if there was nothing connected to the PogoPlug after flashing U-Boot. Maybe I missed the instructions and details about that. I just got my PogoPlug yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out about hacking it.

Thank you
