[Solved] Pogoplug will not boot after installing Samba

I really doubt this is a hardware issue. I am having almost the exact same problem - can install and run ALARM from a flash drive but as soon as I mount a USB hard drive and install SAMBA things fall apart after the last reboot (following instructions at http://blog.qnology.com/2013/03/tutoria ... linux.html). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to try and get ALARM and SAMBA to run consistently on an E02 device?

Someone mentioned that its probably better to have a partition on the HD to boot up ALARM. Can anyone point me to instructions on how to do that - maybe that is the problem i.e. no matter how much labeling or fstab edits one does some pogos are just not capable of booting from the right usb?

Just a thought, did you connect boot disk to back bottom USB port? It's mentioned on the blog, might worth a shot.

I followed the steps exactly and many times. Flash drive is in the back bottom usb and tried HD in the usb right above it as well as two usbs above. Nothing seems to work after the boot following samba install. I should mention that samba installs fine and I am able to see the pogoplug drive on my home network. Now if only someone can make things stick!

Any help will be appreciated as I am sure there are others stuck in the same rut.

Take a minute and setup netconsole to see what's going on at boot.

Hopefully someone can help me out with the same problem. Doing a fresh install on my E02. Installed Samba, which was working fine, rebooted and now nothing. Orange light comes on, but it's not taking an ip and can't ssh into it. Hopefully this Netconsole log helps
