You really can leave the font modifications out of it, that's ridiculous.

netcfg with the network.d files is deprecated, netctl is how network is configured now. Look at dates on stuff you read.

Sorry about the fonts.....and also that I didnt think about checking the dates.

Will be more mindful when I post. But thanks for letting me know about not needing the network.d. I am going to scour the forums for some information about Arch and how to get around and use it.

How about trying what was just suggested? All you have to do is edit the file.

Oh....I am going to do that....first thing when I get home. I was talking about reading and studying more about Arch and linux in general, so I don't feel so incompetent around here.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')What did you mean by: edit the profile file so that it matches your network settings and below the IP4 settings, add this line:

I am not sure how to change the IP address line......my current IP is 192.168.0.3, and I can boot into it without the usb key. I did edit the profile in VI.....I added that line for the skip carrier after the IP4, but before the IP6 stuff.

Do you leave the profile file in that same directory that we copied to....? I am struggling so badly here....looked like a 30 minute job to set up as a Samba share....but this is Day 3 of frustration...!! Tried 4 different Usb keys....none of them will give me the root prompt in putty.

With profile, I mean, by doing this:

cp /tmp/usb/etc/netctl/examples/ethernet-static /tmp/usb/etc/netctl/profile

you copy the static file into a different folder (/tmp/usb/etc/netctl/) and a different filename : profile
Next, we alter the profile so that it matches your settings.
You say you use 192.168.0.3
the netmask underneath is probably 255.255.255.0
and the gateway and dns both 192.168.0.1
underneath the
SkipNoCarrier=yes
line

Save (:wq) and reboot. Success!

Sadly....still no boot! Tried editing profile & eth0.

Tried partitioning & installing via a lived as well. I am using a 32gb key.....is there a max size?

Seems like others are having issues like mine with the new batch of pp.

Not sure what to try now.......

You should try netconsole, it allows you to monitor (on a different computer) what your pogoplug is doing. See it as an external monitor, but in a console. Works really well.

ok....I need to study up on how to do that.....I see some information on the forum about that. They do talk about setting up IP address 10.10.10.x....but my home network is 192.168.0.xx.....Do I need to adjust those IP addy's...?

Also....you had me add a STATIC IP profile, but the eth0 is setup as DHCP......so does the profile override the eth0 or is that going to cause issues...?

Hi,

I experienced a similar problem after mounting ArchLinux on my pogoplug:
- eth0 connectivity lost, did not even show up on the routers (a Netgear FWG114P) list of connected devices

After adding "SkipNoCarrier=yes" to BOTH ip4 & ip6 entries in /etc/netctl/profile, it's now working properly.

caldersm,

Did you get your Pogoplug to boot?
