Because support for MMC on this platform in U-Boot is not there, like I said in the release notes. Maybe later on I'll figure out how to fix it.

The drives will not get auto mounted if they are attached at boot time of alarm. Just plug them in when alarm is already running or mount them by hand.

Again thx for the reply, I am aware of the boot time mount situation and have tested that out already. I need to do a couple more tests to verify, but my initial observation is that the usb 3 ports are just not functioning properly. From a clean install all Ive done is change root pw update pacman and add automount. Being that everything works when reverted to stock would indicate an issue with ALARM? Ill try to manually mount it (have to refresh on steps for that) my concern is that the controller is not being intialized properly and the drives are not even being recognized by the driver or the OS, so even manual mount will not work.

I don't have any problems with USB3 and alarm on PPv4. Works like charm here.

Consider testing `lsusb` and `lspci` commands.

Awesome Props with this reply!!!
Thx man you have now kept this device from flying into a trash can ;-P
I was able to determine the devices are recognized....and as such....manually mountable!!!

So now the question becomes, why are drives on the usb3 bus not automounting on insertion?
By the tone of the responses automount on usb3 is expected behavior w/ the install of automount package.

Any more awesome ideas on how to test this automount issue?
