Thanks, but what I meant to say: from all the supported armv5 devices are there any that don't have a U-Boot version that supports kernels past version 3.2 ?

AFAIK Off the top of my head, kirkwood models either support it stock, or have a uboot that fixes the problem available.

Hey there.
I have the same problems on my Goflex Net, I can't mount 4TB (usb 3.0) hard drive (formated to ext3).
"fdisk -l" and "df -h" show nothing.
As it mentioned above installation of "linux-kirkwood" can solve this problem.

At the moment linux-kirkwood 3.7.8 can be installed through AUR.

After installing the linux-kirkwood package the following is displayed:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '>>> Updating module dependencies. Please wait ...
**********************************************************************
WARNING! This kernel requires a newer U-Boot than many devices such as
the Dockstar and Pogoplug v2 originally came with. If you do
not have an updated version, your system WILL NOT BOOT.
**********************************************************************')

Is there any chance of successful reboot after installation of linux-kirkwood 3.7.8?

Or maybe I should update u-boot 1st? If so, should I follow Jeff's guide posted here http://projects.doozan.com/uboot/ ?

And one more nooby question. What is the rescue system ( http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?4,7915 ) for? I've found some recommendations to install it after (or maybe before :) ) u-boot update.

PS I've successfully installed ALARM to my GFN SATA disk (according to this instructions http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... goflex-net ). And yes, I'm not a linux guru. I'm just trying to follow guides and instruction but sometimes they puzzling me

You HAVE to update uboot BEFORE you move to linux-kirkwood. Play it safe, go back to linux for now.

As Kurlon said you MUST have the new U-Boot. Jeff's instructions you linked to are outdated. There is davygravy's instructions on the Jeff Doozan's forum, or use this complete guide: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3355
