What is strange is that the owner of at http://rglinuxtech.com/ says he compiled 3.15rc? for the Dreamplug and that it runs nicely. But he's using Fedora. So I wonder whether the toolchain on Archlinuxarm might be broken for Dreamplug.

Another hint in that direction is the fact that my own-compiled (on a mid-june updated Dreamplug) 3.13.7 doesn't work, whereas the archlinuxarm 3.13.7 works fine (well, that could also be me, but still - it is the same problem where the USB-devices (harddisk and MMC) are not recognized for the 'root=')...

Is there an easy way to go back into base-devel, like there is for the kernels?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'b')ack into base-devel

What?

Sorry for the shortcut: I wanted to know whether I can find "old" base-devel packages to compile the kernel and see if that's the problem or not.

OK, I finally got around and managed to flash a newer u-boot (2014.01) with zImage-support (thanks Andrew Wiley). Now it works! On my Dreamplug, the uImage is still not working, but the following boots ok with the ArchLinuxARM-kirkwood.tar.gz from 12th of July, kernel 3.15.5-1. I have two partitions: /boot on /dev/sda1, rest on /dev/sda2

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
setenv bootcmd 'usb start; run run_usb'
setenv run_usb 'setenv bootargs $(bootargs_console); run bootcmd_usb; bootz 0x00408000 - 0x00900000'
setenv bootcmd_usb 'ext2load usb 0:1 0x00408000 /zImage; ext2load usb 0:1 0x00900000 /kirkd.dtb'
setenv bootargs_console 'console=ttyS0,115200 loglevel=7 rw root=/dev/sda2 rootwait'
')

I did copy the $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/boot/dtbs/kirkwood-dreamplug.dtb') to $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/boot/kirkd.dtb').

Will we have an official Dreamplug-support?

Just use linux-kirkwood-dt package, but change the name of dtb in your environment to kirkwood-dreamplug.dtb so you dont have to rename it manually every time. No developer has dreamplug, but support is mainlined so it shouldn't be a problem to carry forward. You might want to write a guide for others how to get uboot updated ;)
