Went back to check /etc/fstab, to see if it was blanked out like the other config file was. Re-entered the command, checked it, went to mount, and I get the response of

mount: mount point /media/storage does not exist

So I try:

[root@alarm ~]# mkdir /media/Storage
mkdir: cannot create directory â/media/Storageâ: File exists

filenames are case sensitive. "Storage" is not the same thing as "storage" and you can have both in the same folder

[root@alarm ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rootfs 19G 1.8G 16G 11% /
/dev/sda1 19G 1.8G 16G 11% /
devtmpfs 59M 0 59M 0% /dev
tmpfs 61M 0 61M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 61M 276K 60M 1% /run
tmpfs 61M 0 61M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 61M 0 61M 0% /tmp
/dev/sda2 2.0T 199M 1.9T 1% /media/Storage

Finally got this to register the majority of my drive. Anything to be done about the Terabyte that isn't registering? Also, how do I go about linking it to show up on windows, or will it show up on restart on its own?

It will be mounted at boot so you don't have to do anything. That was my point when I told you you will need several days to figure it out. To fix this problem you will need to either use a flashdrive with a.l.arm or download linux for pc and take the drive out of its enclosure and connect to a pc with a sata port. Basically to fix it you will have to reinstall everything from scratch after the issue is fixed and the solution is to use a hybrid mbr if you want to read about it. 2TB is the maximum size supported by MBR table.

There is another way, but you will have to boot off a flash drive (or external usb hard drive) and have it plugged in all the time into the goflex.

Well, I'm still up to the challenge. After rebooting the device the read-out from putty still shows it as mounted, windows however does not reflect a change, even after remapping it. I think it's time for me to call it a night. I'll be needing to go the flash drive route as I'm not really wanting to crack the case or deal with a full linux install on one of my machines. Thanks for your help and time yet again.

Do I need to correct the mounting issue now? Or do we need to move on to getting the rest of the issues ironed out?

I've had a seemingly endless amount of issues crop up recently, none of which directly related to the drive but they do affect my ability to work on it. Comcast has been going in and out for the past few days, a tech cannot come out until the 16th. The Asus laptop of mine is also having intermittent issues, most notably the dvd drive fails to read certain sectors, which prevents me from being able to run the copy of Suse Linux I was trying to fiddle with, and the track pad will glitch out from time to time. So I get to take that in for under warranty maintenance sometime soon. I have noticed that whenever I leave the drive running it will periodically make a noise as though the disk is seeking, which I never heard it do with stock firmware.

At anyrate, how've you all been? Do well on your exams moonman?

Exams went well, I hope... :) I have another one on Tue but that one is computer science course so I am not worried about it too much :). To run/install any linux distro you can just use a flash drive, easiest way is to use this: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal- ... -as-1-2-3/

So, you will need the above and another flash drive for the task. You will need to create another archlinuxarm rootfs and boot your goflex from it.

To create a rootfs on a flash drive, follow the link in my signature.
