I've followed the steps.. as far as I can (I'm more than a little new at all of this).. It looks good, just a couple of questions....

Am I right .. for the svcid I put in the 26 letter code I find on the bottom of the plug 6-6-2-6-6 without the dashes?
It does seem to be working with that code.

Also, it's so long since I had my pinky working as a proper pogoplug.. have they removed the options to rescan media/convert video etc -- or is that simply not possible with this schizophrenic plug setup.

It should have detected your code for you after the first connect.

Also, yes, those options are there, but they may have changed where they are at in the settings section of the site.

I've probably got something wrong, but the functionality is close enough for me.

I've started again and taken the PPonALARM tar from your download but using the xce.ko for the PPv2 from a different post (srcversion:7432E6CD07379F36F5AE573, vermagic:3.1.10-11-ARCH preempt mod_unload modversions ARMv5)

But, unfortunately My pink plug is still not showing up in the Media section of Settings, (my laptop shows up in here)
My Pogo *does* show up in the General section, and printer secition,

I *can* get it to transcode and stream a small video by editing the appropriate .ceid file
xcode.shortduration=-1
xcode.metadata=always
xcode.thumbnail=always
xcode.stream=always

But it won't "transcode when requested" by my android.
A simple workaround is to have a special "transcode-always" mount and put the videos I want to stream in there. Or simply pre-transcode on a much faster machine and copy.... that will work for me too.

You've done an excellent job here guys, and I've got a pogoplug that actually works with a decent OS.
Thanks!

1) it has to have media in it, and be scanned
2) You've setup a file path for it, yes?

Don't worry about it, we'll see if it's just me when others begin to find this thread.

I'll go back to kicking the tyres next weekend.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('rummy', 'B')ut it won't "transcode when requested" by my android.

You might want to get a Buzzplayer for Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ayer&hl=en) to save yourself from this "transcoding" headache. Buzzplayer plays movies/music directly via Samba/FTP. It works beautifullly on my iPad. 8-)

Thanks to all for their work on this. It is terrific! I was thinking of reverting my pogo to stock to get access via my.pogoplug, but now I don't need to do it. Much appreciated!

NOTE: I have a pogo E02. I first followed the original instructions, but experienced reboots. I then used moonman's xce.ko file... and it didn't seem to work. But, I realized that I had to re-register the pogoplug at my.pogoplug.com. Then it worked like a charm. 7 hours and no reboots.

Thanks a lot for this. Now have a fully working Pogoplug v2 running Samba, NFS, dlna and the original pogoplug stuff for away from home.

One thing I noticed, first is the fact that pogoplug rewrites the hbplug.conf file everytime it exits, so to change anything you have to stop it running, edit and restart. I was just being very lazy and using "rc.d restart pogoplug" and nothing was catching.

Must admit, using SAMBA or NFS is much much faster accessing files on the internal network than the pogoplug software, I would urge everyone to try this. NOw to set UUIDs for my drives so they are assigned the same way if I ever have to restart the pogoplug.

I installed this on my Pink V2 a couple of days back. I'm using moonman's xce.ko and I'm at 5 days and 4 hours without a reboot, and the sharing is working just fine. So I've got the pogo s/w, samba, pytivo, apache all working just fine.
Thanks
