Mac problem connecting to Samba (Pogoplug E02)

I have samba set up on a Pogoplug E02. Before doing a full system upgrade with 'pacman -Syu' I was able to access my share from a macbook pro. After the upgrade, my macbook sees the share in finder but will not connect. It gives a "There was a problem connecting to the server "pogoplug"" error. Weirdly, I am able to connect to the share through a windows pc. I am completely stumped and am not even sure if the error lies in the mac or the pogoplug.
