E02 front LED not working

Postby nwestfal » Sat Oct 15, 2016 6:56 pm

The front LED no longer works on my E02's. They used to work fine but I'm not sure when they stopped working. My pink E02 has 2016.05 U-Boot, and a black E02 has 2016.09.

I think they stopped working after a recent update. I have the following in my U-Boot env:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
arcNumber=3542
machid=dd6
')

I also have 2 V4 mobiles using 2016.05 U-Boot and the LEDs are working fine on those.

Any ideas where to look to troubleshoot?

Does manually controlling the leds work? It will be similar if not the same to this post viewtopic.php?f=53&t=5731#p32401

Yes manually controlling them does work. In fact, I was able to follow this post https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2780#p28531 as a guide and get the LED to come on using a script and a systemd service.

I am curious though what might have happened because I am certain they were working before. The V4 mobiles actually flash red during initial boot stage and turn green at some point during the boot.

Maybe it happened when I switched from linux-kirkwood to linux-kirkwood-dt? But the mobiles are using linux-kirkwood-dt as well.

2 different devices, 2 different dtb files. The led is just turned off by default for E02. And yes, it is because you switched the kernel.
