Bricked GoFlex with serial output-need help

I needed help with my bricked goFlex Net. I want to install debian Squeeze and then install FreePBX, but I unable to boot from the USB stick. I have followed: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=481&start=10 , but I have stopped because I cannot SSH in. The logs do not have an eth0 with an IP address. How do i establish an IP address? Any comments?
