Pogoplug 02 Setup Problem

Postby roadtohow » Sat Mar 04, 2017 9:19 am

Hi, I tried installing ArchLinux on a Pogoplug 02 and managed to mess it up. I've been reading the various forums for quite a while to see if I can figure out how to resurrect it. I just don't know enough about Linux to figure it out. Would really appreciate any help I could get. Any chance to revert back to original? I am able to access via serial connection and have the following:

Code: Select all

U-Boot looks good.
Kernel command line looks good.
Kernel boot looks good.

Check the file system. It looks like it is an intact EXT3, but we need to check contents.

Look for /bin/init, that should be a symlink to ../lib/systemd/systemd, ( a symlink owned by systemd-sysvcompat package. ), if that is not in place, which is possible, use the U-Boot console to set an additional kernel argument of "init=/lib/systemd/systemd"

Thank you. It is going to take me a while to do this. I burned up my USB to serial adapter.

I finally got the new USB to serial adapter. Turns out that I must have shorted out the serial port on the Pogoplug (the leads wouldn't fit without removing some of the covers and one of the leads was just lose enough to lean into the next pin).

WarheadsSE, I honestly do not know how to do this:

Check the file system. It looks like it is an intact EXT3, but we need to check contents.

Look for /bin/init, that should be a symlink to ../lib/systemd/systemd, ( a symlink owned by systemd-sysvcompat package. ), if that is not in place, which is possible, use the U-Boot console to set an additional kernel argument of "init=/lib/systemd/systemd"

I am/was going to have to figure out what the U-boot console is to follow your suggestion. Is it still possible to do this operation if I can no longer access the Pogoplug? I am hoping the file system you were referring to is located on the USB drive and can be accessed via another Linux device?

Plug your drive into some other device.
