'failed to linearize skb' warnings are back

Postby kriztioan » Fri Feb 19, 2021 5:38 pm

With kernel 5.10.16-1 (dt) the good old$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'failed to linearize skb with tiny unaligned fragment') message flooding is back. Commit 30780b58e5cf23f307d0b057d702469a4d0e7c70 removed the 0001-disable-mv643xx_eth-TSO.patch. As far as I can tell, the warning is only issued upon heavy NFS-usage and some web-searching seems to indicate it is related to a lack of memory. Note that my system only has 256MB of RAM. For now, I created a systemd.link-file to hold$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[Match]
Driver=mv643xx_eth

[Link]
TCPSegmentationOffload=false')I will report back whether this helps with the warnings.

The warning is gone with the above fix. I presume there is a performance hit, but not one I directly notice.
