enabling Tonido application

Postby phireph0x » Tue Sep 06, 2011 5:49 am

I've installed archlinux|ARM to a USB flash drive and have successfully booted my TonidoPlug into ArchLinux. I must say it's a very nice, modern platform and am enjoying it.

One question for Tonido users, though: have you managed to get the Tonido application back up and running under Arch? I've copied the files in /root from Tonido's flash to the /root on the USB flash under Arch. I'm trying to manually invoke the script to start tonido (/root/app/tonido/tonidod), but receive errors related to running ledcontrol.sh:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pwrctl: command not found
')

Has anyone been able to get Tonido up and running?

Thanks.

Can you tell me what you did step by step, and how you came this far?

for example how did you try to start tonido?

The question is does it expected pwrctl to return anything? Could you just short circuit a bash script there?

Hope this helps:

There are 3 pwrctl files in the stock TP 2 debian:
/dev/pwrctl
/usr/sbin/pwrctl
/sbin/pwrctl

The usr/sbin and /sbin files are exectables. When you pass the LED control arguments from ledcontrol.sh to pwrctl, it controls the LED's.

I suspect you have to create the device file, add the pwrctl files to the correct directories and perhaps(?) add the GPIO's to the right kernel files to get it all to work.

Apologies for the exceedingly delayed response; I haven't had time to revisit this in awhile.

I actually ended up formatting my USB stick and starting from scratch with ALARM, as I was having time sync issues with OpenNTPD. After following maartenraap's instructions here http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=605&sid=752b69c3f6a5cffe5c5392ecdbbc5f30&start=10, I was able to get Tonido up and running!
