Dockstar Linux problem

Postby noobody » Thu Sep 08, 2011 3:15 pm

Hi all,
I have a dockstar. was using for about a year for file sharing with CEID hack. Updated to linux to get both SAMBA and DLNA. Installation was easy without any issue using the Archlinuxarm.org instruction. Problem with connecting to the dockstar uisng any PC inthe network. SAMBA running fine in the dockstar. Tinker lots of things with Putty for samba. Did soomething wrong and now can not connect the dockstar ueing putty. Help appreciated.

Thanks

If you had a hard shutdown on the dockstar, you likely have the boot seizing up because of an unclean ext2 root partition. Get the drive into another Linux box and run an fsck on it.

This is wrong
path = /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sdb1/
would be
path = /media/ something

testparam will help diagnose

thanks.
path = /media wroks and showed the hard drive

After successfully connecting fron a WIN7 macine, shutdown the dockstar and copy files to the USB NTFS HDD using the win7 machine. Connected the drive to the docstar. after booting I could not find the HDD from win7. I think that I am doing something wrong. Thank you again for the suggestion.
