Questions About ARM

Postby kbohinski » Sun Oct 09, 2011 10:00 pm

Hello

I am looking into using the ArchLinux ARM setup on my E02G Pogoplug. I have a few questions first.

Questions :
-Does the ARM setup support FTP and Samba shares?
-Is there anyway to restore the original factory Pogoplug software back if I so choose?

Thanks!

ARM is just another type of architecture. Just think x86 but a different way of running the same code.

This is just another linux distribution, with all the normal linux software you are used to. Samba is available along with many ftp servers. Going back to the stock firmware is possible though I highly doubt you will want to.

So I can use Samba and FTP if I install this?

Also how hard is it to restore to stock?

As I said, yes. And it's not hard to restore.

Especially with an E02 .. just remove the drive.
