LXTerminal VNC *Bug*

Postby sleven » Fri Feb 17, 2012 4:16 pm

Successfully installed LXDE and VNC on my E02 Pogoplug and have the desktop up but no LXTerminal. Click on it and nothing happens. I am a little noobish to this. Can someone help me out

not sure how you installed lxde. Here is what I get:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
sudo pacman -Sy lxde
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: There are 16 members in group lxde:
:: Repository community
1) gpicview 2) libfm 3) lxappearance 4) lxde-common 5) lxde-icon-theme
6) lxdm 7) lxlauncher 8) lxmenu-data 9) lxpanel 10) lxrandr
11) lxsession 12) lxtask 13) lxterminal 14) menu-cache 15) openbox
16) pcmanfm

Enter a selection (default=all):
')
if you just accept the default it installs.

from the command line you can manually install it :
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Sy lxterminal')
and take it from there.

Tried that. Rebooted spawned vnc and clicked on accessories>LXTerminal and get nothing. Also I am doing this as root no user accounts created.

Same thing here. Just tried it and it was working fine before. One of the recent updates broke something

Is there a formal way to report?

lxterminal is also crashing out on a raspberry pi lxde session.
Not just a vnc thing

Edit 1
Not just lxterminal, if you start lxde and quit it without opening anything then fine, open anything and shut it again then quit lxde and it completely locks up

Alright, I decided to debug this :)
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'lxterminal: error while loading shared libraries: libpng14.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory')

Currently only libpng1.5 is in the repository. I'll try to symlink.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'cd /usr/lib
ln -s ./libpng15.so.15 libpng14.so.14')

This fixes the issue :)
