Pogo 4 as a mail server?

I'm curious if anyone has a Pogo running as a general access MTA/IMAP server. I have a 2U system that sits here, where I work, sucking up power... it doesn't do much other than serve as network diags, httpd and my Cyrus/MTA combo. I wonder how a Pogo might stand up with this

I'm a newbie to Pogo, Archlinux seems to be the solution - though I read you must boot off an external drive (a separate topic).

What kind of load are you expecting?

Barely anything, since I'm the only user -- I have had my domain for many years (since the 90's) so it gets a fair share of spam attempts, etc... nothing that the current system can't handle. But I'd like it to also serve up some web stuff, like "Gallery" and things that utilize PHP, which could potentially create some load. Granted I could use some accelerators, et al.

I also want Ruby/Rails to work on it.

No, just the V4 is the lowest spec'd pogoplug, ever.

If it would work, I think it would be really neat. Perhaps get one for home for remote connectivity, redundancy playing around.

On the market? It's kind of a trade off.
- V2 (E02, some B01's) has 256MB ram
- GoFlex Net has 128MB ram, but 2x SATA
- the oxnas.. well it's not really 3.1 ready just yet. (dual core v6, 128MB, 1x SATA)

Just my 2 cents, so far I am liking the TonidoPlug2 the most out of the limited amount of plugs I have had (Pink Pogo & Pogo Pro). It's CPU clock isn't that fast (800mhz, single core), but the device keeps up fairly well. The main reason I like the TonidoPlug2 is the form factor. It is small & self-contained, meaning it includes a 'bay' for a single SATA drive. With the Pogos it was a bit messier with the usb cables to external Disk enclosures, but it really all depends on what your usage is going to be. It took some effort to get Archlinux to boot off the SATA drive initially, but that was due to it being such a new device. About the only issue I really have with it, is that the GPIO Leds in the Kernel aren't specific to this hardware device, so there is a constantly blinking red light.
