please help the noob, setting up samba

Trying to setup samba to use my pogoplug as a simple nas server. Followed the default install guides on this site. Finder on my mac finds the share and I'm able to connect. When I connect, I see one folder "ArchLinuxARM". Click on the folder and it boots me out of the pogoplug.

Tried using Webmin figuring it would probably be easier. When I login to Webmin, Samba doesn't show up under servers as I understand it should.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you start samba?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'rc.d start samba')

I had a very close issue to yours when I set my box up a couple days agao. The problem is that the example smb.conf file provided dosn't reflect my setup. So I just had to hunt down and edit it. The line in question was this one:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'path = /media/mnt_sdx1/')

Which I had to change to:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'path = /media/')
The other option would have been to make the directory /mnt_sdx1/ but in my case it would have been /mnt_sdb1/.

Also make sure that the drive you want to serve off of is mounted. Type:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mount -l')
To see what it lists.
