Seagate GoFlex Home and WakeOnLan functionality

Postby arrobas » Mon Jun 11, 2012 7:07 pm

Hi all,

Everything is in the subject.
I am planning to buy a Seagate GF Home. Before buying it, I would like to know if somebody has successfully managed to activate WakeOnLan (WOL) functionality on this device.
Is it supported ?

Best regards,

Julien

WOL is not supported. The power switch is a physical switch on the back. You really don't need WOL because they use so little power. With just the CPU running and rootfs on nand/flash drive typical usage is under 4W of power. and with a HDD you're looking around 10-15W.

Mostly because GoFlex Home's use full size drive, which a more power hungry that laptop drives.
