I get distorded sound when playing ogg/mp3/flac/wav on my DreamPlug. The problem exists with both analog output (headphone connector) and optical output.
Has anyone had the same issue? Does anyone know how to fix the issue?

If not using Pulseaudio... load up the cpu and see if it clears up. Just doing a top -d .001 should do the trick. If that clears it up, switching to Pulseaudio should help, at least it did on my GFN.

Loading up the CPU with the "top -d 0.01" made sound to work and the issue does not exist with Pulseaudio. Thanks for the resolution.
Does anyone know why the sound does not work with light CPU load and alsa?

Near as I can tell, it's something about the way ALSA/OSS vs Pulseaudio buffer and shove sound through the stack compared to each other. Looking at flow charts comparing the various sound engines on linux and how they work gives me vertigo though so I haven't dug too hard.
