updated uBoot on PP4?

Postby beyondbuxton » Thu Nov 29, 2012 4:16 pm

Hello all,

I've been reading a bit trying to figure out how I might flash an updated uBoot to my pp4. I'd like to have support for sata booting. And a 3.2.x+ kernel would be welcome as well.

I've read the article here on updating and have read a bit on Doozan's site as well. Most (all?) of what I've read points to an update for Deskstar/PP1/PP2, but not PP4? Something to do with the SATA part on this particular board being a little different? I don't know, I'm just curious what suggestions others have. Maybe I missed something?

Thank you,
BB

/sigh

PPV4 does not suffer from this problem the way we (Arch Linux ARM) compiled it.

Thanks and sorry for being a bother - I have spent a few days trying to piece this together with the intention of not wasting your time. I'm going to take your reply to mean that I can boot from sata. Ok, cool, I'll dig more there and figure it out. I'm left wondering though: is there a straight-forward way of getting a 3.2.x+ kernel on pp4? (I come armed with a usb ttl adapter from earlier misadventures)

Thank you,
