Use a Pogoplug as a cheap serial to Ethernet bridge

Postby serialplugger » Sun Dec 23, 2012 7:39 am

I have never actually messed with an plug computer so I wanted opinions before I start this project.

My idea is to use a pogoplug as a cheap serial to Ethernet bridge. It seems like I could install archlinux and python then use a usb to serial port adapter and have pyserial http://pyserial.sourceforge.net/examples.html#tcp-ip-serial-bridge create the bridge.

If I am thinking properly this would make for a very cheap serial bridge. Any thoughts?
