can't install httpd

Postby iBabu » Sat Jan 12, 2013 6:39 pm

i have goflex home, and accidentally i deleted some files for httpd and now every time i try to install it, it says error: target not found httpd is there any manual way to install it? because without that i can't get my owncloud running, or anyone knows if there is another package i can install besides httpd to run own cloud?

httpd isn't a package. You might have installed apache or nginx or ..

i would suggest installing lighttpd + php-fpm as it is a lot lighter than apache.

To reinstall apache just run pacman -Sy apache2, that should recreate ypur config files

i ran pacman -S apache php php-apache mysql and httpd is now working. now the only problem i remain is with own cloud, it works but it never allows me to use my 2tb partition as data folder, i have set the right permission and everything. and also i went thru all kinds of config file to allow big file uploads and it still always stays at 8mb max, does anyone have this working correctly?

i must have confused names. Under ubuntu the package is apache2 :)

php.ini --> add path to your 2tb drive. The variable is called "open_basedir"

Uploads :
upload_max_filesize
post_max_size

post_max_size should be greater or the same as upload_max_filesize

Make sure to restart apache after you are done with changes or the changes won't apply.
