FTP Virtual Users Upload / passive mode

Hello!

I, at first, was having issues uploading to any directory, now I cannot actually get past passive mode. it fails to list the directory.

Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (my ip,xx,xx).
Command: LIST
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Ports 20-21 and 60021 are forwarded on my router to the correct address. I believe that it has something to do with passive mode, so that is why I added the pasv_address to my external ip, which helped, but still doesn't solve the connectivity issue.

passive mode is when FTP server listens for control connection and does not esteblish it to the client itself so you need specify what port range you want to use for passive connections and forward these ports on your router.

A quick glance at config options:
add this to the config:

pasv_max_port=15020
pasv_min_port=15000

and forward range 15000-15020 to the plug in your router.

Fixed the upload bit.

chmod 755 /srv/ftp and added allow_writeable_chroot=YES to vsftpd.conf

Can anyone tell me if this was a good idea or bad idea?
