File sync over ftp

Postby dannyp » Tue Mar 19, 2013 7:34 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to directory/file sync from my goflex home to a Western My Book live without doing a copy/paste from a laptop as that way I only get around 9.5MB/sec and am guessing a direct connection would achieve a higher transfer rate.

I know the My Book has ftp access and wondered if there was a way to achieve the sync using a commad line or web based gui.

I found this page http://serverfault.com/questions/24622/how-to-use-rsync-over-ftp which recommends lftp or ncftp. You might try searching on those.
