Dead Dockstar?

Postby darrena » Tue Dec 21, 2010 2:41 pm

We lost power the other day and my Dockstar seems to have given up the ghost. I pulled the drive off the system and fsck'd it. Powered the Dockstar up with the drive attached and not attached and with either configuration it only goes to a flashing Orange light (Indicating that it is booting into the normal pogoplug firmware I think).

It does obtain an IP so I am able to NMAP it and 80,443, 3333, and 3334 are all listening though none seem to deliver any data. 80 and 443 seem to hang after i connect though on 443 it does hand me the cert so the SSL handshake occurs. SSH is not listening.

I tried to activate it at my.pogoplug.com thinking that I could turn on ssh there but it doesn't seem to be phoning home to there.

I am pulling out my backup plug so it isn't a big deal but any tips on recovering this one (I will order the console cable soon)? Should I consider it dead?

Thanks!

If you have any indication from the LED, it means that U-Boot is active. With a serial cable you can recover it. Look in the wiki for instructions.
